Since its establishment, PCCE laboratory has developed 18 wheat varieties independently or in collaboration with colleagues from other institutions. The varieties Yumai 66, Kenong 9204 and Kenong 199 were certificated by national government, and the rest 15 varieties (Xiaoyan 54, Bayou No.1, NC2, Zhangchun No.5, Kenong 213, Yunza No.6, Yunza No.5, Xiaoyan 81, Kenong 1093, Kezi 6061, Zhangchun No.7, Xiaoshan 8645, Zhangchun No.6, Xiaoshan 9659 and Keyi 5214) were certificated by provincial government. The total area cultivated with these varieties has reached more than 3.0 million hectares, which has significant contribution to wheat production and food security in China.
