Founded in 1995, the State Key Laboratory of Plant Cell and Chromosome Engineering (PCCE), Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology (IGDB), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), is one of national leading laboratories in wheat breeding and applied plant genetics research in China.

　 PCCE Laboratory has currently 20 principal investigators including one academician of CAS, 85 research staffs, 32 postdoctoral fellows and 109 PhD and Master students. The present director of PCCE laboratory is Professor Xiangdong Fu and the director of the 5th academic committee is Professor Weihua Wu.
